Health and Well-Being
All sound is vibration. Our bodies are in a constant flow of energy and vibration. Our voices perform a cathartic and cleansing function by laughing, crying, groaning, sighing, yawning and singing. At SingTonicity we realise how our natural sounds can serve to bring the body into balance and our emotions into alignment resulting in a wholeness of body, mind and spirit.
The ancient art of singing makes you feel good and also has many beneficial effects on your health. Singing can calm, revitalise, energise and elevate your mood above your worries. It allows you to connect with your emotions, develop confidence and boost your immune system. Singing can reduce feelings of pain and depression, help improve memory, lower high blood pressure, relieve tension and boost the immune system.

“All feedback indicates that the programme effected positive changes in 100% of participants, indicating improved confidence, self esteem, social skills and general health and wellbeing. Siobhan showed enormous respect for the agency and participants with which she was working, has exceptional organisational abilities and a willingness to engage with the rest of the organisation. Members of the group have performed at our Christmas event and will perform at our A.G.M. To secure such level of commitment is testimony to Siobhan’s ability to enable and support vulnerable women through an innovative therapeutic approach” – Susan Gibson, General Manager, Derry Well Woman.
Music and song provide a connection with an array of emotional states mush easier than with language. Learning how to free our voice, using it as a tool to get in touch with our emotions, bringing awareness to our breathing provides many benefits both in mind and body.
“It’s like a singsong – the breathing exercises can help if you are feeling stressed and need a bit of time out – its like a vocal stress ball”.
